The big difference between Dietzler All Natural Beef and conventionally raised beef is that we do not use hormone implants or mass applied antibiotics. Just as athletes have recognized that by ingesting growth hormone supplements they can gain weight faster and build muscle, animals can also gain weight and muscle faster by ingesting additional hormones.
Most commercial feedlot operations implant a hormone additive in the soft ear tissue of the animal which then causes the animal to eat more and gain weight and build muscle faster. We do not follow that practice. We do not use supplemental hormones to promote growth.
Because we raise and control the environment of all of our animals from birth to the time they are delivered to the USDA inspected harvest point, they do not come in contact with animals that may be sick.
These are the main differences between our practices raising beef and the practices of most feedlots. As a result, we can and do market our beef as being “All Natural”.
