Dietzler Farms is located in southern Wisconsin in Walworth County on the edge of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The land in this area is gently rolling and there are numerous spring-fed lakes, the largest being Lake Geneva.
The mission of Dietzler Farms is to raise healthy beef cattle that yield tender, flavorful meat
To do that, we started by purchasing breeding stock whose offspring would meet our criteria. Hereford cows are among the most docile of breeds and we were fortunate to begin with Herefords because they set the standard for good herd behavior and how we expect our cows to behave. No one wants to tend cows that are aggressive or dangerous. Gradually we introduced Angus bulls and Angus cows into our herd and today we have an outstanding herd of Angus influenced cows and some purebred Herefords.
Dietzler Farms is a family owned farm. We began raising beef with our signature diet a decade ago, just for family and friends. Quickly, the demand for our beef grew and we started selling sides and quarters, at farmers' markets and now to the top restaurants in Lake Geneva and in the Chicago area.
Dan Dietzler is the head cattleman and oversees the entire operation. His daughter, Michelle, graduated from Colorado State University and has returned to the Midwest and handles the sales and distribution of this expanding operation. Dan's other children and their spouses all lend a hand whenever it is needed, from baling hay to painting barns to pounding fenceposts. Patricia, Dan's wife, is always keeping the place looking picture perfect and keeping the whole family well fed.
